It's not war

President Drone has thought up a novel justification for his unauthorized bombing of Libya, seemingly illegal under the War Powers Act, it's not a war.

Bombing and killing people when not in a war used to be considered murder from a moral point of view, and I would also think that since the money it costs is being spent without Congressional approval, that also would have once been considered illegal.

But President Drone and the US has evidently moved beyond all this legal-schmegal folderol, the hit man in charge can kill anyone, at anytime, and it remains only for US citizens and the US Congress to sit and watch in wonder, at least when it's not too secret for their tender eyes.

To paraphrase the Talking Heads, substituting war for love:

When my war
Stands next to your war,
I can't define war
When it's not war.

It's not war.
It's not war.
Which is my face,
Which is a building,
Which is on fire.

When my war
Stands next to your war,
I can't define war
When it's not war.

It's not war.
It's not war.
Which is my face,
Which is a building,
Which is on fire.

I've got two wars
I've got two wars
And they go tweet, tweet, tweet, tweet, tweet, like little birds
They're my two wars...
Count them one, two wars...
Count them one, two wars.
Which is my face
Which is a building
Which is on fire

[should be four wars, all tweeting like little birds]

It's not war.
It's not war.
Which is my face,
Which is a building,
Which is on fire.
